And Granny Would Dance receives second prize

At its second festival screening, Maryam Mohajer’s BFI supported film, And Granny Would Dance, won the Grand Prize for Best Short Animation. Thanks to the jury at the Rhode Island International Film Festival for the award. As such, the film is the RIIFF’s Official Academy Nomination for Best Short Animation.

We are also thrilled to share that the film has been selected to screen in the BFI London Film Festival in Shorts Programme in October.

Other festival presentations coming up include: Fantoche in Switzerland, Calgary International Film Festival in Canada, and  the UK’s Aesthetica Short Film Festival.

And Granny Would Dance is a film by Maryam Mohajer, produced by Animate Projects, with the support of the BFI, awarding funds from the National Lottery.
