Move It

Move It was an initiative showcasing independent and experimental animation in 2016. We connected programmers, exhibitors, animators, artists and audiences with four curated touring programmes:

Move It was a networked season of British and international animation, covering a breadth of film and art practice for anyone interested in creative animation and getting it seen; an exhibition development programme connecting programmers, exhibitors, and audience; and an opportunity for touring new programmes of work.

Led by Animate Projects, in partnership with QUAD Derby, the Centre for the Moving Image, Edinburgh, FACT Liverpool, and Dundee Contemporary Arts, four new programmes were created: a retrospective programme of shorts from 25 Years of the McLaren Award; a selection from the Animate OPEN: Parts and Labour call; a programme of animated films for young people co-curated by Flatpack Film Festival, and a programme of animated documentary shorts co-curated with Animated Documentary.
