Navigations
Navigations is a project about the brain, cancer, and the respective approaches of medical science and art to how we understand the impact of illness.
Artists Alec Finlay and Iain Gardner developed new work at Glasgow’s Beatson Institute for Cancer Research and the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, engaging in a dialogue with the medical team and researchers about their respective disciplines.
Navigations is supported by a Wellcome Trust Arts Award and is a collaboration between Animate Projects, Paintings in Hospitals, and Professor Anthony Chalmers and his teams at Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and Beatson Institute for Cancer Research.
The works are on loan to healthcare sites across the UK as part of the Paintings in Hospitals Collection.
