‘Statue in the Garden’ goes into production

We are delighted to announce that we are working with Stoke-on-Trent based artist, Qianhui Yu, on BFI NETWORK supported short animation, Statue in the Garden.

In the film, young Chinese creative, Didi, moves to Stoke-on-Trent and finds herself in an unfamiliar and seemingly hostile place. She discovers in her new garden a curious, little, ceramic statue, which takes her on a magical journey back through the post-industrial, industrial, and pre-industrial past of the Midlands and its potteries, uncovering the history of the place she now calls home.

Statue in the Garden is a film by Qianhui Yu, produced by Animate Projects, supported by Film Hub Midlands as part of the BFI NETWORK and the National Lottery.
