See Treasure, Chado and Dawta at Cardiff Animation Festival:

Catch recent Animate Projects productions, Treasure by Samantha Moore and Chado by Dominica Harrison in competition at Cardiff Animation Festival, live 7-10 April at Chapter Arts Centre, and online from 7-24 April. Plus, artist Jessica Ashman and producer Abigail Addison will be in conversation and screening the live performance documentation of Dawta on Friday 8 April.

Insects & Us has its UK premiere at The Photographers’ Gallery:

Kris Hofmann’s Insects & Us is an augmented reality (AR) story about the importance of insects to planetary health and our own wellbeing. Experience this project in installation at The Photographers’ Gallery, London, from 18 April to 12 June. You are invited to explore the animated environment and engage with the interwoven stories of its inhabitants from four leading entomologists.

The project will be presented at Phoenix in Leicester in July, as well as touring to other UK and European galleries and museums later this year. Check the project website for details.

Storytelling Science events:

Hear from the artistic and scientific collaborators of the ‘Storytelling Science’ project about the process and outcomes of their interdisciplinary project.

On Thursday 26 May, live at Manchester Met’s new SODA building, you can hear from Professor Serge Mostowy and members of his lab, artist Samantha Moore, and the University’s staff and students. Book a free place here.

Dear Friend, I Can No Longer Hear Your Voice..  at Sir John Soane’s Museum, London

On 20 May, an online panel discussion exploring death, bereavement and creative approaches to memorialising – themes raised in Anne-Marie Creamer’s new film, currently showing at Sir John Soane’s Museum, London. Speakers include Anne-Marie Creamer, Helen Dorey, Deputy Director and Inspectress, Sir John Soane’s Museum, artist Oreet Ashery, palliative care consultant and writer Dr Kathryn Mannix, with moderator Melanie Keen, Director, Wellcome Collection.
